I'm going to keep this short and sweet. In accordance with our current attendance trends and talks with sackholders it is undetermined how much longer Shogun can last. We always seem to be short of people and it will eventually get worse.
Some of our members are quitting, some of our members are not attending because of RL issues. These are fine, I can't control that and can't ask people to stay or skip out on RL. However, without individuals who can consistently make runs who are going to be an asset to the group, then we're in trouble.
I've been asking for awhile with no results. I'll ask again. If you know anyone who is interested (read, will show up) in coming then please ask them to come out. We are in dire need of BLM, PLD and good DD people. A solid showing for an easy win is around 30-36 people (2 alliances). We seem to have around 20-24 showing up at an event and sometimes less, with those jobs lacking.
We're sitting fine in the rdm deptartment, I've switched to bard when needed, we usually have a good showing of whm's. The rest is lacking. Like I said, our survival depends on these jobs, and the people that fill them, so get on the horn. I'm doing what I can to rustle new members, but it's not easy being cheesy.
If I may say... I've noticed the lack of attendance as well as seeing new faces, it's great to have more people come (and go sadly) hell, I've brought my whole social/static ls to this dynamis to get more people, I've and am still trying to get some people I know here and there to come join, though I usually get told to join theirs instead lol.
neways, what I wanted to point out was that lately we've been doing windy none-stop on "let's get the win sunday" to which we usually end up losing due to lack of DDs, I've seen superb performances from the BLMs on windy, but we took too long to kill a yag upon passing the first bridge, which I also want to consider on sentinels or any mnk type mobs to be countered ( if possible to have a spare 2hr) by PLD or THF, it's just frustrating to have half, or 2/3 of the DD group being wiped by one mob, when it's chosen as the first mob out of the pack that was pulled, leaving the other yags to the blms and finalizing with a wipe.
My point is, let's do a easier dynamis where we can farm/win easier or even the city we haven't visited in a while, per say, sandy or bastok. The constant loss on windy's a let down and discouraging if we keep on losing even as we keep on trying, so till we get solid numbers (DDs and PLDs) I'd say it's safe to do somewhere else.
(edit: forgot to say the whole bastok/sandy comment was my PoV, as I was away from FFXI a while, obviously not being in dyna.)
I agree Dignity. The sad fact is that our members list shows well over 36 people with enough blms, plds and a good number of dd. The problem is I receive no word in advance if they will be there or not. So from my standpoint we have the numbers, but they never show up.
That being said I appreciate your effort to gain members, it is a great help and I wish more members could do the same. If I don't feel we have enough members to make a good run of Windy, then we'll defect to another city. Possible bastok again because we did Sando recently.
I don't want to see Shogun go down the crapper. I like Dynamis, I like going with you guys and learning some new tricks. But yes, we either need more members or need more people showing up. As personal issues seem to be a major conflict right now, then we obviously have to recruit some more people that CAN show up. I'd like to see everyone get their AF, I thought everyone else felt this way as well.
For some mnk type mobs I would have to see a pld have to use 2hr when it could be of more use later on with some sac pulls or trigger NM's. What I would like to see is a dedicated tank and healer on them while somebody slows them down with enfeebs (read blind, para, slow). Anyway, I'll discuss this before our next run.

I know the NIN's are debuffing the MNK mobs.
When it comes to the MNK mobs, lag is a major problem, as I'll see someone with full HP one second and dead the next, with nothing in between. Saving the MNK mobs (and NIN mobs?) until the end might be something to try.
