actually i just learned the statues may be true-sound aggro... but that really doesn't change anything. if you're close enough to get sound aggro then you're too close for comfort.
wait until the statue is back at the archway and you're guarenteed NOT TO GET AGGRO.
i'm sorry but i'm sick of this shit.
i'm probably overreacting and i don't mean to insult my friends but come on... to lose a dynamis cause of aggro en-route to the next camp... i think we're past this. i KNOW we're past this,. we've improved so much since we first started... these are mistakes we can't afford to make in the future.
i'm just frustrated. i love you guys and i love dynamis, i just hate to see us (the linkshell) make the same mistake every freakin time we're in sandy.
This topic coulda been taken up a lot more subtly.
But then again, half of Shogun doesn't take at all to subtlety. And that half never checks the forums anyways, listens consistantly thru dynamis before, during or after. So fuck it, if you're reading this then you probably are fine.
To the people that will never read this: God. Dammit all. Its a simple task to walk by mobs.
Hopefully next sandoria we'll have larger attendance, so we can just kill our way thru like usual, leaving only one statue to sneak by.
I guess the point I'd like to make is this..everyone makes mistakes from time to time. We had a rather large number of people doing San D'Oria for the first time, and Dynamis for the first time. There's a learning curve with any new experience, and even so, not everyone is perfect.

you're exactly right. it was a bit of a fresh run, i forgot about that. frustrations + whiskey = hastey forum posts heh. i hope the new shoguns had a good time.
i would like to see everyone pass the aggro test run next time we're in sandy though, you've all avoided aggro for at least 65 levels ;)

but if you dont know, then dont come back.
i didnt mean you specifically, i meant the general you that i spoke to in my original post heh
fuckit i love you guys and we have tons of fun, ima go play some records and chill out. :D see most (hopefully all) of you guys sunday
I underestimated the sight range of those statues, not a mistake i'll make again.
I was probably too tired to make good use of my radar, that has served be very well over the last 15 levels or so while moving through dangerous areas.
Thanks for pointing out the aggro range, Aydann, I'll make sure I don't snuff it next time we do San D'Oria.
I'm sorry I didn't make it last night, It was tough hearing what was going on, and not being there to try to help. Quin I hope you had a good time, I hope all of the new shoguns had a good time.
I've had my break and I'll not be missing again for a good while.
p.s. Fuck you SE - first goddamn sandy run I miss and those boots finally drop.
Being one of the people that died there on MY very first run through, I'd like to point a few things out.
Yes, there are plenty of people in the game who could learn a little more about how not to aggro mobs. I gripe about them myself from time to time. And yes, everyone could have done their research and read up on the strategies of getting through that part of San d'Oria. I'm guilty of that myself.
However, I don't think that your criticisms of people going through there for the very first time ever are founded. For one, you can research all you want and be the best mob dodger ever and still foul up on that run, because it's not like anything else in the game.
You could have researched everything, know the way the mobs move, and still goof up if you haven't actually done it before and know the timing. I'm not even going to go into technical glitches like lag, either.
I just don't think it's fair to bitch people out about that if it's their first time through. No one trained the mobs to the group. Everyone did what they were told and stayed put. I thought that that was what mattered the most.

I understand the frustration though. That sneaky bit really does seem to mean the difference between a clean win and a probable loss. It's tough to watch a good dynamis run fall apart.
If the person who died didn't train and it's their first run, then you gotta let it go and hope to push forward. If the person is new, got aggro and trained the alliance, they're idiots, and should know better by now. If the person is experienced, and got aggro, and die in a good place, hey it's just bad luck, lets try to keep the pace going. If they're experienced and train the alliance they probably need to be talked to.
In any case it's Quetre's job to do the bitch slapping, unless he designates one of us to be the hired hand in these situations.
sorry guys i completely flew off the handle. you're completely right keir, it was uncalled for. at the time i had completely forgotten we had a bunch of new people with us, i thought i was bitching at the same old crowd.
sorry all. can we just nuke this thread or something?
