Dynamis - Exiles
Permalink Closed

Welcome,

As you probably already are aware, members of Exiles have grown a great big boner for Dynamis and the loot within. I feel it is my duty to ease that boner into new and exciting places (read warm* and moist).

To do so we will need some more people who are interested and committed to the cause. Without consulting with my co-leader (who will be running a lot of the show, especially when I'm gone) Quetre, I will give to you a base set of rules for the LS.

  • Show Up on Time, or don't show up at all.
  • Be clear on what you want to lot, make sure everyone knows it.
  • Be courteous to fellow members, need over greed.
  • Do some research prior to showing up.
  • If you cannot make a Dynamis, inform a sack gobbler.

If you are not a member of Exiles, but are a member of Shogun this is fine. If you show up and put in a good effort you will be rewarded accordingly. We are a LS of friends, we have played the game together for quite awhile and would like to continue to do so. As such, any horse-hockey or discriminating/stupid/ignorant play will most likely not be tolerated. Show us you're serious, and we'll show you an ass playing a banjo (read Timofh turning down food).

As of this point in time, the rest is up to you and prospective new members. I would like to invite friends only... but good/trustworthy players are bound to come into your radar.

This is Ruo signing off... go fuck yourself San Diego.

-Ruo

*drunken writing, damp and moist are pretty much the same thing Ruo.

It looks like the ideal nights we'll be able to do Dynamis are fridays or saturdays.  Seems to be the days most people i've talked with have the same availibility.  Dynamis events can run on average 3 hours, but with a new shell doing just mainly practice and farm runs that time may be slightly shorter.

The DATE, TIME, and ZONE will be in the /lsmes and updated once every week, the day after the dynamis event statign which one is next.  The time's we set to start are the {Gather together} times, so be ready and standing at the damn Trail markings at that time so we don't keep everyone waiting.

In the near future I will add a links thread that will help people to find information on all the dynamis events, as well as strategies, mob types, maps, and AF/item drops.

If possible, once we have the member count, I'd like to do an 'on site' tour of our first scheduled dynamis, sorta walk thru the city and path we will take as well as explain what to expect.

Get in touch with me if you have any questions or need a pearl.

Congratulations to everyone who showed up tonight for the sandorian circus event.  We survived(somehow) and hopefully all learned something new or improved on their own experience.  Sorry we have to endure the chaos of an unorganized LS, but better we get that over and done with now than when Shogun is up-and-running.

Anyways, this week:  Post on the roster etc, let us know who you are!  Get in touch with me if you have any questions at all, I will help in any way possible.

Had a meeting tonight, here's a recap:

Dynamis runs will be funded by previous runs to start out.  All currency that drops will be lotted on by a sackholder and sold thruout the week.  That gil will go towards the purchase of future hourglasses.  In the future we'll also discuss members "sponsoring" runs, where all currency would goto them in exchange for them purchasing the Hourglass in full.

The lot casting system will work like this: each member is allowed two jobs to lot for.  One will be primary(must be level 70+) and the other will be secondary(level 65+).  When AF drops, everyoen with that job listed as "Primary" in their /seacom will be allowed to lot on it.  If an AF drops that noone can lot for(either because noone has it listed primary or everyone that does list it already has) the lotting will be passed onto the people with it listed as their "Secondary."  If there is still noone to lot at this point, the AF becomes 'free lot'(meaning anyone can lot for it) that has the job over 65, 60, and so on untill someone finally gets it.    If you miss a run(without valid reason which is to be told to myself or a sackholder or posted here), you will not be allowed to lot for one(1) run.  This is so people do not think they can just show up whenever they want and are entitled to the drops regardless.

We still haven't decided on a specific day and time to do our runs, there are lots of conflicting schedules.  However, tuesday night(tomorrow) the 6th we'll be doing a trial run with another Linkshell.  This will give everyone a little taste of what dynamis will be like, but be a bit safer with the extra added comfort of 30ish members.

Please, if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc, send me a tell, and if i'm not online, look up another sackholder.

Ruo (AFK for a couple months), Quetre, Fishy, Timofh and I are the sackholders, as far as I know.

Thanks to the members who showed last night for the Co-Dynamis-Sandoria.  For those that couldn't make it no worries.  The LS we tagged along with is new like us and still getting organized.  It did show us a few things first hand though, and the few pulls we wiped on could have been dealt with much easier if more than 2 black mages were present.   All in all, a crappy run due to number of deaths/lack of AF drops, But glad to see Shogun members eager for experience.

Juicy topic:  Our first dynamis solo?  Late saturday night, enter by 10:30pm EST or Sunday evening enter around 7:30p.m?  Send me tells if either works.  LS could still use a few more members, emphasis on the black mages(we have two).

(Thursday night edit)Got a lot of feedback saying we should go in on Saturday night, enter by 10:30.  Gather together at south sandoria trailmarking no later than 9:45!!  The hourglass will be bought and paid for by previously gathered funds.

Alright, congratulations Shogun! We entered dynamis sandoria with 16 people and a very short supply of key jobs, but we came out better than anyone could have expected.  Everyone seems to be catching on very quickly.

I'm still receiving feedback from everyone who attended but some isues need to be addressed in preparation for our next run.

  1. Re-raise items need to be taken with each member for dynamis.  If you dont have a reraise item on you, do not expect to always get R3.  Minutes we waste on raising add up and can cost us dearly.

  2. Some very minor battle issues need to be worked out.  It would do everyone good to know what general order monster's should be killed in as well as "must-not" actions, such as attacking a pet before killing its master.

  3. Its been suggested by a few that we do dynamis - sandoria atleast one more time before changing cities.  Since monster spawns dont change it will remain the same every time, but allow us to become further acquainted with how to handle different mobs/pulls and thereby help everyone to learn to be more efficient.

Any other concerns or advice~ post! use these forums guys, let everyoen see the idea and get everyone thinking about ways to work it.

Not to mention that there's still a lot of people that need/want af from sandoria.

With several members being out of town, we're going to hold off on our Dynamis till next week, probably as soon as wednesday evening.  Everyone who invited friends out last time remind them to sign up so.  The dynamis currency from sandoria has all been sold and is going to be used to fund future dynamis.

I had a chance to go on a run with you guys and lemme tell you I liked most of what I saw. There was a few things that need to be addressed as no doubt Quetre will bring it up. But for those of you that actually pay attention and are serious, you can be proactive and check it out here.

Issues are as follows:

1. If a large mass of Mobs happen to want to make friends with you and death is imminent: Do not offer to introduce them to members of the alliance. Die in a safe spot, let them go back from whence they came, die with dignity. When I went, a couple of wipes were due to members tagging a train back to the alliance camp. This is unacceptable and will possibly be punishable by removal if it is serious enough. Just don't do it, as an alliance wipe means less time to beat that particular Dynamis.

2. Asking a million questions in LS chat that have already been addressed means that you are not paying attention. Spamming these questions in LS chat means that other members start to ignore things in LS chat. Which leads to miscommunication and more of issue #1. LS chat in Dynamis is reserved for strategy and instruction. Pre-dynamis in setup-city it is used for overall strategy and alliance structure. If you have a question then defer it in /tell to another ls member, preferably a sack-holder.

3. DO NOT SPAM QUETRE with questions. To my knowledge Fishy, Timofh, Aydann and Quetre are all sack-holders. Quetre however is in charge of setting up the run, and making sure things run smoothly. He doesn't have time to tell you how to turn off autotarget even though he stated it 40 times pre-run. Any of the other sack-holders can answer your questions.

4. Please pay attention to what is going on. Take out your useless party-chat macros to cut down on spam. If you have to step away from the keyboard (please do so if an emergency only) mention it to alliance or sack-holder. Check the log for questions prior to asking. Pay attention to instructions.

When I return full time I will be helping Quetre set up and maintain the run from start to finish as well as define the ls rules. From what I recall on the run we did really well, but the issues outlined above are why we didn't win. I'm confident that we have a good group of people and there's no reason for losing when we all can work together.

Also, I kicked someone in haste from the last run because of what appeared to be a lack of commitment. It was not right and the member will be invited back to another run by Quetre. It was my fault and should not be deferred to anyone else but me. All I can say to the new member is that I am sorry, you will be given another chance to show that you really want to participate and we (read I) really want you to keep coming. Please read the forums, understand that we are serious about what we're doing and we wish to do it for gain and fun at the same time. Fun unfourtunately sometimes means winning and doing things to the best of our ability so we have to be commited and have research done prior to attending.

Best of luck in your future runs while I'm away guys, hope to get back soon.

Alright, i know in the confusion before, during, and after Dynamis that many of the things said and their level of importance can be missed.  There are somethign like 35 members of Shogun.  Nearly all of you started out completely green with no idea what the event "Dynamis" was going to throw at you.  Im going to let you all know that I am extremely pleased with how far we've come together.  I see mostly everyone giving everythign they can to pushing the runs forward.  The only thing preventing us from a win in bastok is balance; a balance I hope to acheive this wednesday night.

Typically, one side of our alliance is absent or very short on members, ie only 1 white mage attends or we have 6 black mages and only 4 70+ Damage dealers.  Its no longer about numbers inside dynamis like when we started.  We have to have the right balance or we wont get passed just Farming for 3 hours a night.

That being said, seriously, you guys are rocking.  Everyone(almost) is pulling their weight and really trying to push forward to finally see what a Dynamis Mega Boss looks like.  We're nearly there, Shogun, keep giving it everything.

Hello there!

I have been taking a break from endgame for a little while now.  One of the things I did enjoy a great deal was doing dynamis with friends, and so I have been looking around recently to see where I might apply.  The all juciy Quetre directed me to your website.

The only question I have is... what is the incentive for people to participate if they have all of their AF2?  I was talking to Quetre about this the other day, but I thought I would post here anyways.  Might be some food for thought for the future.

What, the joy of mass chaos and death isn't good enough?  I can toss in some Tarutaru sacrifice if that would help!

In all seriousness, you raise a good question, one that, I think hasn't been addressed to date because many of the Shogun members had little to no experience with Dynamis prior to joining, and therefore, are still collecting AF.

Fun, excitement, perhaps a chance to huggle a taru.
In all seriousness, we are discussing the possibility of sponsored runs for relic weapon upgrades, and i'm sure we'll talk about other incentives for our members.

I understand, and that's cool.  But under your current rules, there would be nothing for me to lot in the main cities.  And it looks like you will be doing them for a long time.  Nonetheless, I am looking to have some fun with friends and perhaps to meet some new ones. ^^  I'm going to talk to Quetre, and maybe I'll see y'all on Sunday!

I know if you show, Aydann will cling to your ankle and not let go. The more WHM that show up, the better the chance Aydann can come as MNK instead. :P

WHM's are easy. ;P   I /poked Liuu lastnight to see if he wanted to join, and I'm also trying to get Aajinana and her boyfriend to come on Sunday.  Aaj is a 75WHM and my Dynamis partner in crime!  Elona is also a 75WHM (and SMN, RNG, MNK, and probably others that I'm forgetting at 75 lol).  Anius will be coming on Sunday as RDM (also has 75BST).

I had a long conversation with Quetre lastnight.  I could try asking a few other friends from our old Spirit Dynamis shell, but (unfortunately) your LS does not have much to offer experienced Dynamis players.

This is true, and as I mentioned above, Shogun is mostly comprised of people new to, or relatively new to, Dynamis.  We are exploring Dynamis together and developing strategies and learning to work together as a pretty diverse group of players.  I know I'm enjoying getting to know new people, and facing new challenges together, and that Dynamis is a nice opportunity for me to do something rather than EXP.

I wanted to go ahead and give everyone who continues to put forth the effort to be with us for dynamis as often as they can some well-deserved credit.  I took several opportunities tonight in bastok to really notice how much not just every group contributed, but how much each -person- did as well.  I won't lie, It gave me chills.  I started this Linkshell, but all of you have made it as great and fun as it is with your hard work, loyalty, and experience loss.

A few spotlights:

  • Mischa, regardless of how many times he went down, kept on trying to keep his mages safe from harm as long as he could.  /salute

  • Aydann was the one white mage we had tonight vs Bastok.  thats a lot of stona's.  Its a lot more when paired with the 2 galka in her pt.  She was casting on every party tonight, and on some mobs.

  • Kiorah's awesome waterga's probably saved us hundreds of milli seconds on statues.  49 dmg right?  ^^ jk, I saw you cover Fish's sleepga's with your own, you were always in the right spot doing what you were supposed to.  All black mages were.  You're the group that takes the hardest beating but you also bring the most hurt.  All of Shogun loves you.

Well, to be fair, Nanner did show up, though just in time to cast a couple spells, eat a cookie and sit back down.

You're giving me too much credit. It was only 41; the other 8 damage must have come from someone else. ;)

I don't know how to go into this right now, but I'll elaborate later.  for now, you get the lazy version

Read the very first post under this thread.  Almost everyone in shogun has violated atleast 1 of those primary rules every single sun/wedsnesday.  Because of this, I receive several messages during dynamis about whos-lotting-what, such-and-such is being mean to disguyhere, and my favorite, "iwasntlisteningcanyoupleaserepeatwhatyourepeatedtwicealreadyagainintellswhileinlaggydynamis?

I'm not saying everyone is guilty of everything, I'm just saying a lot of us need to take a few minutes, maybe more, to go over some choice websites with dynamis information.  This will help the people who arent sure what relics drop in what cities get a clue, as well as maybe people will kow what mobs we're fighting instead of "Vanguard militant....he's in the army--whut?"

A big bother amongst the shell is /party macros.  If you have them, rad.  If you use them in dynamis they lose their radness. They morph into annoying/lag/vertigo.  Some people have only 1, others have like 50.  turn them off during dynamis please.  The more unneeded spam, the less the alliance will be able to focus on what I or someone else is trying to say.  Etc.

Courteousness.  Big word, probably misspelled.  Bigger meaning, and seriously, a lot of people fudged that up sunday.  Guys, come on.  Half of us have know eachother for atleast a year.  Half of the other half are immediate friends of the first half, and the last quarter are friends of those friends.  the remaining 1% are people who may or may not be awesome and totally nice, but they just cant/wont commit to the time frame.  so look at those numbers:  100% of this damn linkshell are people with the word "friend" in their title.  Have a problem with someone in your pt not doing his/her job? Send a tell to you party leader, not me!  If it IS your party leader, send me the tell.  Do not coplain in party/linkshell chat that disguyhere is wearing haubergeon as a whitemage or castign refresh on the thief.  Make a note of it to your PT leader, and if it happens more often than the one time we can try to sort it out civilly.  You know it could just be a hurried mistake, lag-induced, or sure maybe they really are dumb-as-hell.  That's all irrelevant.  You say something in LS or party about someone else and you draw people's attention, they lose focus, and chaos ensues.

Anyways, the point of the aforementiond wasn't to pick anyone, this was a 'reminder' to everyone that just because we're starting to get the hang of this that doesn't mean rules/morals lose merit.  Things may change eventually, but don't lose sight of our orriginal motivation:  Fun with our family.
